ToolTrack Zebra Service (TZS)

• TZS is deployed as a self-contained Windows service that hosts a REST API to securely receive print jobs from a ToolTrack session with customer specific label formatting (in ZPL format) and then passes them to the local printer. The device/computer (from which the user is running the ToolTrack session) will have a self-signed certificate installed for whichever machine is hosting the service to ensure communication is secure. Thus, printing can only be triggered by ToolTrack sessions inside the company network, and the customer can control which devices can do so.


• The Zebra printer can be networked or connected via USB to a local workstation running the service, as long as the ToolTrack session that triggers the printing has access to the service. Detailed technical deployment instructions will be provided.


• A dedicated TZS deployment is required for each Zebra printer to be integrated, but a server can run multiple services to support multiple networked printers, or a workstation can have multiple USB-connected printers.


• The Zebra printer must support ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) commands. If the printer is not a currently supported model, an implementation project may need to be scoped before integration can occur.


• TZS requires a $100 USD per month subscription that will be added to the existing ToolTrack subscription. The subscription covers unlimited TZS deployments.
